New Porsche 911 GT3 will have optional manual transmission and 500-hp flat six

Sports car enthusiasts may rejoice, because the manual transmission lives on in the revised 991-2-generation Porsche 911 GT3. Drivers may once again opt for three pedals and a six-speed gearbox to make forward motion with a powerful naturally aspirated flat six, Porsche announced this morning at the Geneva International Motor Show. Or, they can go with the standard seven-speed PDK automatic.

Watch This Video Before You Go on a Track Day

Driver’s Education (DE) events allow us to learn more about our Porsches, to learn more about ourselves and, above all, to have fun. You’ll learn the rudiments of performance driving in a safe, controlled, and non- competitive environment and be able to use the experience to improve your safety and driving ability on the street. In fact DE events are one of those rare enjoyable things in life that aren’t illegal, immoral or fattening. You’ll learn, at first, that the limits to how you drive are your’s and not your Porsche’s.

Member Profile Maintenance

Most of us do a good job at keeping up with the maintenance needs of our Porsches. We aren’t as good at maintaining our profile information to be current or correct in the PCA database. Most frequently, we fail to add new acquisitions and/or remove Porsches we no longer own. Incorrect or incomplete information affects the club’s ability to communicate with you and affects your ability to maximize the value of your membership. If you are not receiving any communications from the club, it is likely that we have incorrect or incomplete information in your member profile.

Road Rally Treasures

What do you get when you cross a directionally challenged, Attention Deficient Disorder woman, a military engineer, and a “Never tried this before” Porsche Club Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) rally? Well, let’s just say it’s an interesting adventure. When Mark, the engineer in this scenario, asked me if I wanted to participate in the TSD Road Rally through the Middle Peninsula, I was less than enthused. I love our car. I love riding with the top down, drifting down the road and letting the right side of my brain take in all the sights as he motors along. Don’t get me wrong.
