Air & Auto Classic 8

We'd like to thank our Air & Auto Classic 8 attendees, volunteers, sponsors and vendors for braving the weather and attending this year's car show. As a result of your generosity, together we raised $11,000 for Horizons Hampton Roads and the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia!

Thanks for supporting the show and we hope to see you at Air & Auto Classic 9!

Ringing in the New Year in Style!

This year’s FSR New year Party was held January 14th, 2017 at the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg. There was a nice turnout for an evening of fun, camaraderie, great food and, new this year, live jazz and dancing to the sounds of the very talented and versatile musicians of “limelight”.
As has become customary, the new slate of officers was introduced with Doug Worrall taking over as President, Melinda Cagle as Eastern Vice President, Kevin Clark as Western Vice President, Ed Merry as Secretary, John Schwaebler as Treasurer and yours truly continuing as Activities officer.

September 2016 Fun Run

Fall is now upon us. Football, autumn leaves, school, responsibilities. Before we know it, winter will come and, for many of us, fewer Porsche driving days. So as you read this, pause a moment, sit back and fondly remember our September 10th Fun Run from Euroclassics Porsche west of Richmond to the Tyer's home overlooking the beautiful Rappahannock River. It was a wonderful Porsche memory indeed.

First Timers Experience Parade

On our drive up to Jay Peak, we hit a few scenic spots along the way. We stopped at the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon in Wellsboro, PA. Wellsboro is a very quant town and the Mountain Laurel Festival was also in full swing when we arrived. From Wellsboro we went through Watkins Glen, NY and stopped at the state park and hiked up through the Glen. We didn’t have time to go to the famous Watkins Glen racetrack but it would have been fun. We also stopped at the Ausable Chasm, which is located along the western shore of Lake Champlain.

ALMOST PERFECT

That is what you call a sunny Saturday tour with some neat twisty roads especially chosen for Porsches, lots of camaraderie, and a tour at the end of one of the most famous mansion in Colonial America. For 26 Porsches and 46 members, this was the First Settler's Region Fall Fun Run. Afterward, most agreed it was almost perfect.

Road Rally Treasures

What do you get when you cross a directionally challenged, Attention Deficient Disorder woman, a military engineer, and a “Never tried this before” Porsche Club Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) rally? Well, let’s just say it’s an interesting adventure. When Mark, the engineer in this scenario, asked me if I wanted to participate in the TSD Road Rally through the Middle Peninsula, I was less than enthused. I love our car. I love riding with the top down, drifting down the road and letting the right side of my brain take in all the sights as he motors along. Don’t get me wrong.
